All Saints, as our parish is popularly known, has been ministering to the urban community on the Old North Side of Indianapolis for over ninety years, first as the original cathedral of the Diocese and then after WW II as a parish church.
I hope you will read some of the highlights of our church's history and the significant events that have occurred over the past forty years.
All Saints is a parish of approximately 160 members who come from all parts of the City of Indianapolis and surrounding suburbs. The church is located just a few minutes north of Monument Circle.
All Saints is an open and affirming congregation reflecting the diversity not only of the downtown community surrounding it, but also of metropolitan Indianapolis.
We are known for liturgical worship that may be best described as being in the ‘catholic tradition’ of the Episcopal Church. A traditional term, Anglo-Catholic, referred to the catholic revival of theology and sacramental worship in the Church of England (Anglican Church) in the mid 19th and early 20th century. Anglo-catholic was used to distinguish the Church from the Roman Catholic Church.
The Sunday liturgy at All Saints is commonly called The Mass (Holy Communion). In addition to classical hymns, choral Gregorian chant is used. You will discover that All Saints has an outstanding choral tradition and there is a concert series, Arts at All Saints.
Visitors often comment about discovering an atmosphere of "awe and spiritual reverence” when they attend worship at All Saints. We welcome all to receive Holy Communion with us, especially first-time visitors.
If you live within driving or walking distance of All Saints, or if you are in the City for business purposes over a weekend, we hope you will visit us.
If you are looking for a church to affiliate with, please know that you will find a warm welcome. The congregation is comprised of people who come from various denomination and backgrounds. Some have never belonged to a church before.
We strive to honor and affirm everyone's distinctive spiritual journey. Membership classes for Confirmation are held annually.
We look forward to welcoming you at All Saints.
