Update: A New Organ Console Has Been
Added
In May 2007, the Vestry commissioned a
study to evaluate the feasibility of a capital campaign to
provide funds for building improvements—some that had
already been completed and some that were deemed necessary.
Approximately 80 members participated in the study,
providing input with their comments and a written
questionnaire.
The study aimed to involve as many members and friends of
the congregation as possible. Some of the overriding
principles guiding the decision to more fully secure the
congregation's input were:
- Preserving and protecting our investments in both property and equipment
- Being good stewards of the property we have; and
- Making our facilities more welcoming and inviting to both members and prospective members.
For many years, our capital maintenance needs have exceeded funds available within our operating budget. Many structural needs have not been addressed and are reaching critical point.
We must look beyond today and toward future needs and resources to carry out our Christian mission over the next several generations.
